I was so tired of AI hallucinations... until I did this
Stop AI From Making Things Up —Build Your Content Base in Claude
Here’s the thing nobody tells you about using AI for your content:
You’re going to have the SAME conversation over and over again.
“No, that’s not my approach . . .” “Actually, I teach it THIS way. . .” “Stop inventing things I never said!”
I hit my breaking point last Tuesday.
I was working on a newsletter—something I’ve written about a dozen times before—and Claude kept hallucinating facts. Making up frameworks I don’t use. Citing examples I’ve never given.
And I realized: I’m spending more time correcting AI than I would’ve spent just writing the darn thing myself.
The frustration wasn’t just about wasted time (though let’s be real, that hurt). It was deeper than that.
Every piece of content I’d poured my heart into—every newsletter, every framework, every hard-won insight—was lost in the void of past conversations. Inaccessible unless I wanted to scroll through months of chat history or re-upload the same documents again and again.
There had to be a better way.
And guess what? There is.
It’s called a Content Base—and it’s about to change how you work with AI forever.
What IS a Content Base, Anyway?
Think of your Content Base as Claude’s personal library card to YOUR wisdom.
Instead of cramming everything into a single conversation (where you’ll hit attachment limits and session limits), you create a centralized library. A home for every newsletter you’ve written, every framework you’ve taught, every story you’ve told.
When you need Claude to write something, it doesn’t pull from generic AI training data.
It pulls from YOUR actual content.
Your voice. Your ideas. Your expertise.
No more hallucinations. No more “that’s not what I teach.” No more starting from scratch every single time.
Artifacts vs. Projects vs. Content Base
Here’s what you need to know:
Artifacts = Living documents Claude creates that exist outside your chat conversation. They persist across sessions and can be edited, searched, and referenced at any time. This is what we’ll use for your Content Base.
Projects = A folder where you store reference documents and have ongoing conversations. Good for collaboration, but limited in how many files you can attach and how Claude accesses them.
A Content Base (Artifact) = Your entire content library stored in a searchable, organized artifact that Claude can reference in ANY conversation. It’s permanent, unlimited, and always accessible. You never lose it, and Claude never forgets what you’ve taught it.
Why You NEED a Content Base
Let me paint you a picture.
You’re trying to write your weekly newsletter. You KNOW you’ve written about this topic before—probably three times, actually. You had this perfect story, this killer framework...
But where IS it?
You start digging through email archives, past Substack posts, that Google Doc you think you saved it in, and seventeen different Claude conversations.
Twenty minutes later, you still haven’t found it.
So, you either recreate the wheel (never as good as the first time) or give up entirely.
A Content Base eliminates this nightmare.
Here’s what becomes possible:
Write faster – “Claude, write a newsletter draft about [topic]” and it pulls from your actual past content, not made-up examples.
Never run out of ideas – “Give me 10 content ideas,” and Claude searches your library for themes you haven’t explored yet.
Repurpose like a pro – “Turn my article into 5 Instagram posts,” and Claude knows exactly what you said, maintains your voice, and stays consistent.
Create products you can sell – “Outline a course based on my content,” and Claude organizes everything you’ve already taught into a structured offer.
Stop repeating yourself – Every framework, every story, every lesson is available instantly. You teach it once, and Claude remembers it forever.
Why a Content Base Beats Old Chats or Projects
With Claude chats, you spend half your time searching for “that one conversation where I talked about . . .” Context gets lost. You hit message limits and have to start over.
With Claude Projects, you’re still limited in files you can attach. The context window gets overwhelming. Organization becomes a nightmare once you have 50+ documents.
With a Content Base, Claude only loads what it needs. No limits on how much you can store. Everything is searchable and organized. It scales with you as you create more content.
It’s the difference between asking Claude to memorize your entire book collection versus teaching it how to look things up in your filing system.
How to Build Your Content Base Artifact (Step-by-Step)
Here’s EXACTLY how to create your own Content Base artifact with Claude’s help:
Step 1: Gather Your Content
First, collect your existing content. You need:
Past newsletters and blog posts
Email sequences
Course content or teaching materials
Social media posts that performed well
Video scripts or podcast transcripts
Frameworks and processes you teach
Your brand voice examples
Don’t worry about perfect organization yet. Just get it all in one place.
Step 2: Ask Claude to Build Your Content Base
Start a new conversation with Claude and say something like:
“I want to create a Content Base artifact that stores all my content, frameworks, and brand voice. I need it to be searchable and organized by category. Can you build this for me?”
Claude will create an artifact—a living document that exists outside the chat conversation. It’ll include:
Search functionality
Categories for organizing content
The ability to add/edit/delete entries
Automatic organization
Step 3: Feed Your Content to Claude
Once Claude builds the base structure, start adding your content in batches:
Add this newsletter to my Content Base under ‘Newsletters’ and paste your content.
Add this framework to my Content Base under “Frameworks & Processes” and paste your content.
You can add content piece by piece or do it in batches. Claude will organize it automatically.
Pro tip: Start with your BEST content first—the pieces that best represent your voice, your expertise, your frameworks.
Step 4: Organize and Categorize
Ask Claude to create categories that make sense for YOUR business:
“Create categories for: Newsletters, Frameworks, Stories & Examples, Brand Voice, Product Descriptions”
Claude will organize everything accordingly. You can always add or change categories later.
Step 5: Test the Search Function
Try searching your Content Base:
“Search my Content Base for content about [topic]”
“What frameworks do I have in my Content Base about [X]?”
“Find all the stories I’ve told about [subject]”
Claude will pull exactly what you need—no more digging through old conversations.
Step 6: Use It to Create Content
Now here’s where the magic happens. Start creating with your Content Base:
“Using my Content Base, write a newsletter about [topic] in my voice”
“Based on my Content Base, what are 10 content ideas I haven’t explored yet?”
“Turn the framework in my Content Base about [X] into an Instagram carousel.”
Claude pulls from YOUR actual content—your voice, your expertise, your examples.
No hallucinations. No made-up facts. Just your genius, amplified.
Step 7: Keep It Updated
After you publish new content, add it to your Content Base:
“Add this new newsletter to my Content Base.”
The more you feed it, the smarter it becomes. And because it’s an artifact, it stays with you across conversations—you never lose it.
What Your Content Base Can DO
Once you have this set up, prompts like these become game-changers:
“Write this week’s newsletter about [topic], using my voice and examples from my past content.”
“Take my article about [X] and turn it into an Instagram carousel, Twitter thread, and YouTube script.”
“Based on my content about [topic], create a course outline.”
“What topics have I covered most? What gaps should I address?”
“Here’s a draft. Make it sound more like my typical voice.”
The possibilities are endless.
The Bottom Line
You’ve spent YEARS creating content, building your expertise, finding your voice.
That knowledge is pure gold.
And a Content Base changes the game.
It turns AI from a tool requiring constant correction into an assistant that actually knows you—your voice, your expertise, your stories.
Is it a little upfront effort? Yes.
Will it save you hours every single week? Absolutely.
And here’s the truth: You’re going to keep creating content anyway. Why not set up a system NOW that makes every piece you create 10X more valuable—because you can repurpose it, reference it, and build on it forever?
Your future self will thank you.
